About Us...

My parents have several photographs of me, taken when I was about 1 year old, wearing nothing but a litter of whippets!! I grew up with whippets, as my dad raced them when I was still a little girl.

By the age of eight, I was riding and becoming more interested in horses than Whippets. I enjoyed taking part in riding competitions, where i did very well.

In February 2003 I decided to look for a dog to show. My dad still had a Whippet or two at home and I realised that I missed the loyalty of this special breed. It made sense for me to look for a Whippet and i looked forward to getting back to the thrill of competition.

I was given contact details for Cobyco Whippets and following several months of phone calls, acquired ‘Jan’ - Cobyco Centre of Attraction. What a lovely dog she turned out to be. Little did anyone know at that time that her half-sister, Cobyco Call the Tune, would go BIS at CRUFTS in March 2004.

I entered my first show in February 2004 under Mr Dennis Meakin of the Oakbark whippets. I was very nervous but knew I would get an honest opinion as Dennis knows the breed so well. Jan won the Puppy class then Best Puppy in Breed and then Reserve Best Puppy in Show – I was hooked. More Open shows followed and then I was into the Championship shows.

Our 1st show in 2005 was Manchester, under Pauline Oliver, where Jan won Limit bitch, gaining her stud book number and qualifying for Crufts’ for life. What a way to start the year!!

Later in 2005, at Stafford Agricultural show, Jan won Whippet Open, then the Hound Group and went on to go BIS.

Our first litter of Saraquele Whippets were born October 2006. We kept the only bitch puppy in the litter, Bliss - Saraquele Sacred Charm.

Why SARAQUELE?

Saraquele is the name of an angel its meaning is ‘I am’. It represents everlasting hope and love unending – an appropriate affix for such a loyal breed.
